West Brom are said to be close to agreeing a new deal to keep hot prospect Saido Berahino at the club, according to the Daily
The England starlet started the season in super form and has begun to rediscover this following a quiet spell towards the end of 2014.
There has been persistent speculation that the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham will battle it out to take the young striker from the Midlands club.
The 21-year-old put a halt to negotiations earlier in the season which fueled reports further.
However new boss Tony Pulis sees Berahino as a vital figure in his side’s battle to beat the drop and has stepped up efforts to keep him at the club.
Baggies officials are said to have met the player’s representatives and offered increased terms on their original offer – which will see the player bag a significant rise on his £12,000-a-year wages.
The youngster has scored 14 goals in 25 appearances this season including four goals in their FA Cup third round tie against Gateshead.
