West Ham striker Mauro Zarate is undergoing a medical with Queen Park Rangers ahead of a six-month loan spell, reports Sky
The 27-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements with West Ham due to the stiff competition for places. The likes of Diafra Sakho, Antonio Valencia and Andy Carroll have been keeping the Argentine forward on the bench or out of the match day squad entirely, so Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp wants Zarate to boost his own attacking options.
The Hoops only have Bobby Zamora and Charlie Austin as viable attacking choices, so they are willing to gamble on the 27-year-old to help them survive in the Premier League. He’s completed the first part of his medical, and is expected to confirm the move to QPR soon as a result.
