Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes summer signing Alexis Sanchez is like former legend Ian Wright with his approach to play, reports Sky
The long-serving Gunners boss says Sanchez has the same industrious style and enthusiastic character on and off the pitch that reminds him of former Arsenal striker Ian Wright. The Chilean international has taken little time to adjust to the Premier League following his £32M move from La Liga giants Barcelona, scoring 18 goals in his first season already.
And with Sanchez having a “bubbly” personality in the dressing room that rubs off on his fellow teammates, while also showcasing an all-action workmanlike play on the pitch, his manager says he’s just like Wright was back when the Englishman was an Arsenal player. Wenger added how the Chilean is very friendly to talk to, as well as becoming charismatic with the entire squad, not just the Spaniards.
“Alexis is more with the Spanish players of course, but he is loved by everybody. He is very friendly and bubbly every day. He is a bit like Ian Wright, with his enthusiasm. Alexis is quieter than Ian Wright – but that is not difficult and he doesn’t get booked!” said Wenger.
