Championship side Blackburn Rovers booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-final following a shock win against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon, reports BBC
Stoke took the lead early in the first-half. Peter Crouch continued his fine run of form in front of goal to put the Premier League side ahead inside of 10 minutes.
Blackburn found an equaliser in the latter stages of the opening 45 minutes, with Joshua King heading home to make it 1-1.
Stoke right-back Geoff Cameron then gave the home side a lifeline right on the break, giving away a penalty and getting sent of in the process, which Rovers striker Rudy Gestede dispatched to put the hosts in the lead.
Minutes into the second-half, King scored his second goal and Blackburn’s third to double the Championship side’s lead.
He sealed his hat trick just minutes after grabbing his brace, with his third goal seeing him racing clear of the Stoke defenders and finishing past Jack Butland in goal.
The shock result sees Blackburn into the FA Cup quarter-finals, while a humiliated Stoke will have left Ewood Park shell shocked at the thrashing they were dealt out.
