Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana scored a second-half winner, as the Reds came from behind to win at Selhurst Park, booking their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals as a result, reports BBC
Palace took the lead early in the first-half through Fraizer Campbell. Dwight Gayle capitalised on a mistake from Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel, and nearly headed an effort past Simon Mignolet, but his shot was saved and bounced to the feet of Campbell, who made no mistake with his finish.
Liverpool pushed on for an equaliser, and enjoyed high levels of possession without levelling the tie in the first-half. Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho forced saves from Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni, while Joe Allen came close for the visitors too.
Early in the second-half, Daniel Sturridge continued his impressive run of form, scoring a first-team volley after latching onto a chipped pass from Jordan Henderson.
Adam Lallana turned the game on its head minutes before the hour mark, following up a free-kick taken by substitute Mario Balotelli that wasn’t held by Speroni.
The deserved win puts Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals, and finds the Reds as one of the favourites to go all the way in the competition.
