Crystal Palace have allowed midfielder Barry Bannan to join Championship side Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season, reports BBC Sport.
The Scotland international has failed to prove his worth since his move to Selhurst Park, and will now join the resurgent Trotters in the second tier, managed by former Celtic boss Neil Lennon. Bannan made 10 appearances for Palace this season before being moved on, and will now be hoping to aid Wanderers’ push for an unlikely playoff objective.
Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew signed Bolton’s Lee Chong-yung on deadline day, and Bannan’s loan move out was part of the deal. The Scot, who joined from Aston Villa in the summer of September 2013, possesses a wide range of passing and great vision, but is very inconsistent. He is, however, a former Celtic man himself, so the Scottish connection could well help revive Bannan at Bolton.
