Brazilian left back Dani Alves could be on his way to Manchester United when his contract at Barcelona runs out at the end of the season, according to the Daily Express.
The defender has been an ever present for the Nou Camp side since his arrival from Sevilla back in 2008 but could find himself playing his last season for the club.
Barca have not offered any new terms to the 31-year-old and Manchester United are said to be ready to swoop.
The Brazilian’s agent, Dinorah Santana, has claimed he and his client will actively start seeking new clubs unless the Catalan giants change their stance.
He said: “I interpret that silence to mean they don’t want Dani Alves, so we will begin searching for a new club.
“We won’t wait for Barcelona, they have to take the plunge.”
Reports are increasing that Louis van Gaal is preparing a move with Alves’ agent keen to see what sort of package United can put together for his client.
While being 31 Alves does still offer plenty of first team football but it is unsure if Van Gaal will want to sign the defender on a reported three year contract being asked for.
If negotiations do begin it could prompt Barcelona to firm up their stance or either perform a U-turn.
Alves has made 321 appearances for the Spanish giants in his seven years with the club.
