England manager Roy Hodgson hints at Harry Kane call-up

According to BBC Sport, England manager Roy Hodgson has revealed Tottenham striker Harry Kane is in line for a call-up ahead of next month’s internationals against Lithuania and Italy.

The 21-year-old has been in fine form for the Londoners this season, scoring 23 goals in 35 games in all competitions, and has been tipped for a call-up for some time. Kane has stiff competition in the England side, with Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney also fighting to spearhead the attack.

Kane is England’s leading goalscorer in the Premier League this season, but has yet to receive a cap. He has time on his side, but is expected to feature when England face Lithuania and Italy in March. Hodgson has been keeping a watchful eye on the youngster, and admitted that he’s “worth a place in the squad”.

There are a few other potential candidates in line for a call-up too, with Danny Ings (Burnley), Charlie Austin (Queens Park Rangers) and Saido Berahino (West Brom) having impressed this campaign.
