Everton in bid for Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj

According to Manchester Evening News, Everton are close to completing a deal to sign Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj on loan until the end if the season.

The young winger, 19, has attracted the interest of the Toffees, with manager Roberto Martinez keen on bringing him to the club to offer some raw attacking threat and pace. Januzaj is highly-rated, and considered to have a big future with United, but manager Louis Van Gaal hasn’t given him much game time this season. His form has been patchy at times, lightyears from the performances he was showcasing for United under previous manager David Moyes. Januzaj doesn’t seem to fit the new boss’ philosophy either, as he isn’t an effective wing-back, nor intelligent enough to play a central role.

As a result, Everton are looking to persuade the Red Devils to allow him more regular playing time at Goodison Park until the end of the season. There’s been no official bid from the Merseyside club, but movement could be made today, with the transfer window shutting tonight.
