The 29-year-old is out of contract following his termination from Lokomotiv Moscow. He was reported to have fallen out with the team manager, therefore leading to his exit from Russia. And as a result, Diarra is now available as a free agent. He has been linked to a host of clubs, with Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle United having previously shown an interest.
But West Ham could well be his next destination, as he’s been training with the Londoners in a bid to earn a deal until the end of the campaign. Manager Sam Allardyce confirmed the news, and is confident he could be a useful addition for West Ham’s European dream this season.
The Londoners are hoping to sign Diarra, as he’s impressed in training, but it’s unlikely he would feature for potentially a fortnight, Allardyce said.
