West Brom are considering selling star striker Saido Berahino after the striker’s recent public comments about wanting a move to a bigger club, the Daily Mail has reported.
Berahino has been the subject of intense speculation for the majority of this season as the 21-year-old shows what a big talent he could be.
The England U21 international has scored 14 times for the Baggies this season and the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool are preparing to make moves – January saw a firm stance from West Brom that he would not be sold.
Their decision has been altered however after the youngster made comments in an interview without the club’s permission, stating he wants to “move on to bigger things” at the end of the season.
New boss Tony Pulis will reportedly speak to the player and possibly fine him for his actions as he attempts to take a hard line with the youngster in order to keep him focussed on keeping the club in the Premier League.
The club have shelved pending contract talks with his future set to be discussed at the end of the season – with the angered club willing to listen to offers over £15m.
Pulis has already had to defend his man since taking over after he was banned from driving for 12 months following a drink driving charge.
