Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has defender Phil Jones and forward Robin van Persie back from injury and in the squad for this weekend’s Premier League fixture against Swansea City, ESPN
Van Persie was missing for United’s FA Cup win over League One Preston North End while Jones has been recovering from an ankle injury suffered early in the league win over Burnley. It means Michael Carrick is the only player not available to van Gaal due to injury, with the experienced midfielder expected back in training soon following a three-game absence.
Jones has this season made 16 appearances for United, without scoring, and has made more than 100 appearances for the club since a summer 2011 move from Blackburn Rovers, having started his career at Ewood Park.
Van Persie, meanwhile, is United’s joint-top scorer for this season with 11 goals in 27 games. The Netherlands international, who played under van Gaal with the national team, has 100 appearances for United to his name after a 2012 move from Arsenal, scoring 58 goals in all competitions.
