Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane wants to be a Spurs player for life, according to the London Evening Standard.
The 21-year-old is enjoying an incredible breakthrough season at White Hart Lane where he has already bagged 20 goals this season and is adored by fans.
“He’s one of our own” is a regular chant heard about the player around the grounds and this week penned a new five year deal with the club ahead of their North London derby clash against Arsenal this weekend.
And he is sure to have delighted fans further by revealing he has no plans of leaving – in fact wanting to become a rare figure of modern football and spend his entire career with the club.
He said: “Tottenham are a great club on the rise. I hope we get better and I’d love to stay here for as long as possible.
“If I’m still here in 10 years, I’d be over the moon. A lot of players today, when they do well, they end up going to another club or moving abroad. It depends on the situation at the time but at the moment, I’m looking to be a Tottenham player for many years.”
“You look at players like Ledley King, Ryan Giggs and Steven Gerrard. To stay at one club at the top level the way they have shows how good they have been.”
Kane’s new deal sees him through to 2020 when the forward will be 27, and he expressed his desire to have landed trophies with the club in the period too.
Many have tipped him for an England call up when the national team gets together and it is hard to argue against his case – with the likes of Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge struggling with injuries and fitness, while Rickie Lambert for example has played very little football this season.
