Liverpool are considering whether to make a summer move to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, who is keen to play regular football again, according to the Daily
Cech joined Chelsea in the summer of 2014 and spent a decade as first-choice goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge, but this term he has had to make way for Thibaut Courtois. As a result, his appearances have been limited, with most of his chances coming in the domestic cup competitions.
The 32-year-old recently played a crucial role in helping Chelsea see off Everton in the Premier League, but has been dropped for the two games since then, and despite the Blues’ desire to keep him, Cech is hopeful of finding regular first-team football.
Serie A duo Napoli and Roma are both interested in making a summer move, but Liverpool have been linked for several weeks and manager Brendan Rodgers is weighing up the possibility of adding to his goalkeeping options. Current No. 1 Simon Mignolet is in strong form, while the Reds have younger targets in mind should Cech turn them down.
The Czech Republic international was reportedly the subject of a January bid from Arsenal, whose interest is now believed to have cooled.
