Manchester United have made an enquiry to Borussia Dortmund over a possible summer move for attacking midfielder Marco Reus, according to Goal.com.
The Old Trafford club have been linked with Reus for a number of months, but with Dortmund struggling at the wrong end of the Bundesliga, they are sensing that the summer may provide their best opportunity to sign the Germany international, who has also been the subject of interest from Real Madrid among others.
With a buyout clause of €25m, Dortmund are braced for offers during the close-season. It is a situation that Man Utd have monitored closely, and they made contact with Jurgen Klopp’s side over the weekend to discuss the potential options.
The Red Devils did little business during the January transfer window, but are expected to spend big once again this summer with manager Louis van Gaal set to be significantly backed as he continues his attempts to bridge the gap between United and the top of the Premier League.
Dortmund are determined to keep Reus, who joined them from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012, and overall has made 105 appearances and scored 48 goals.
