Manchester United have identified their next big money signing – with a move for Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris in the pipeline should current stopper David De Gea leave for Real Madrid – according to the Daily
Speculation has been mounting furiously over the past few months that the Spanish giants are eager to sign the 24-year-old Spaniard with current number one Iker Casillas starting to show signs of aging.
The 33-year-old has a fearsome reputation but his performances over the past two seasons have been less than impressive – none more so than some horror showings during Spain’s dismal 2014 World Cup last summer.
Any move for De Gea will be a bitter blow to fans at Old Trafford with the keeper repeatedly putting in star performances this season, recovering from the less than convincing start to his United career when he signed in 2011 for £18m.
Should the Spaniard return to La Liga – having played for Atletico Madrid before his move – Louis van Gaal has identified Lloris as the man he wants.
And club officials are said to be willing to meet the £25m evaluation Spurs have put on the French international’s head.
Lloris himself has also been in superb form this season with a string of stunning and high profile saves helping to secure points.
