Manchester United are set to make a £29.5m bid to sign FC Porto winger Yacine Brahimi, who has also been a target for rivals Manchester City, according to the Metro.
He could leave Porto at the end of the season, and Man City have scouted him extensively in recent weeks, although unlike their rivals they must take Financial Fair Play regulations into account before making their move, as they are currently affected by sanctions from UEFA over breaking such rules last season.
Louis van Gaal already has a number of forward players in his Man Utd squad, with the likes of Angel Di Maria, Adnan Januzaj, Ashley Young and Juan Mata all competing for a place on the wing. However, United are expected to spend big in the summer and could allow several players to leave, while they are hopeful that a deal can be done for Brahimi.
