Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal desperate to win the FA Cup this season

After reaching the fifth round of the FA Cup, Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal admitted he wants his side to prioritise the competition, with how many big teams have been eliminated this season, reports BBC Sport.

Manchester United saw past Cambridge United 3-0 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup fourth round replay, and are now just two games away from reaching the FA Cup final at Wembley. Manager Louis Van Gaal feels the eliminations suffered by Manchester City, Chelsea, Southampton and Tottenham put the Red Devils in the driving seat.

“I am not a casino man. I am not allowed to bet. But I give you a tip. We have a real chance now. We are the highest qualified team in the FA Cup so our status is the highest club,” he said.

Manchester United will travel to face Preston North End in the next round of the competition, which should see them comfortably through to the quarter-finals, barring an upset, so they have every chance of going all the way.
