Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has recently joined Championship high-flyers Derby County on loan, not too long after signing a new deal with the Red Devils, reports Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old is rated highly at Manchester United, but picked up an injury when called up to the first-team in his opening game of the campaign. Lingard has joined a host of clubs on loan in the last 18 months, but has committed his long-term future to the Red Devils, before being loaned out to Derby County. He could help the Rams to promotion this season, which would do wonders for his chances at United in 2015/16.
The England U21 international will be with Manchester United for the next few seasons, but his loan spell with the Rams this season could well be the stepping-stone move he needed to prove his true quality. Lingard isn’t getting any younger, and will know he has a chance to show Louis Van Gaal exactly what he can do when given a run of games.
