Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi has opened talks over a possible summer move to Spain to join Real Sociedad, according to the Daily
The 22-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning that foreign clubs can sign him on a pre-contract agreement. As he is under the age of 24, Newcastle would be entitled to a fee should he leave, but that is likely to be less if he moves abroad.
Sociedad boss David Moyes is reportedly a keen admirer of Ameobi, who has impressed in recent weeks after being given a chance in the first-team by John Carver, having only appeared sporadically under previous manager Alan Pardew. Since coming through the youth system on Tyneside, he has made 58 appearances, scoring four goals.
Moyes has also been strongly linked with a move to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings, whose contract also expires at the end of June. However, the Scot is fearful that the prospect of this move taking place is becoming unlikely, with Ings having been urged by manager Sean Dyche to stay in England should he leave Turf Moor.
