Southampton signed loanee Ryan Bertrand on a permanent deal, while Benfica midfielder Filip Djuricic joined the South Coast outfit on loan until the end of the season, reports BBC Sport.
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman previously admitted he was keen to bring in at least one more new face in January, and has been looking for attacking options all through the campaign, to ensure they have enough creativity in tough games.
Filip Djuricic’s deal wasn’t easy to push through, as the talented winger was at loan with German club Mainz, but the Bundesliga side allowed him to return to Benfica to ensure the loan deal to St Mary’s could be completed in time before the deadline.
As for Ryan Bertrand, the former Chelsea defender was on loan with the Saints this season, but his performances has been so impressive that Southampton were very keen to take him on a permanent deal. He replaced Luke Shaw, who was sold in the summer, and Koeman’s men haven’t looked back since.
