Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted the South Coast side are looking to bring in at least one new face before the winter transfer window closes, reports BBC
Saints lost their last Premier League game to Swansea City, and after the game, manager Koeman said: “We will have at least one player, I think we need that. I don’t answer questions about names. But you will know it tomorrow.”
The Premier League high-flyers are currently on course to finish in the top-four of the table, but need to bolster their options to ensure they have adequate cover in case of injury. The likes of Dusan Tadic and Sadio Mane have been forced to play a lot of games due to there being no other real options to replace them with.
But Feyenoord’s Tommy Vilhena and Benfica’s Filip Djurcic have both been linked with the club, and Koeman did confirm he was interested in both players. It’s unknown if the Saints are looking into permanent deals in January, or loan moves for specific players, but they are hoping to have added to their squad by the time the winter window shuts.
