Swansea eye Denmark striker Vibe

Swansea City are to register an interest in IFK Gothenburg striker Lasse Vibe as manager Garry Monk looks to sign a new striker in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Welsh club sold top scorer Wilfried Bony to champions Manchester City in the January transfer window, leaving them somewhat short in attack. Summer signing Bafetimbi Gomis is currently filling the void left by the Ivorian, but rumours continue to cast doubt on his long-term future at the club, while Nelson Oliveira is yet to score since joining on loan.

Vibe, who has been the subject of interest from Championship club Reading, has an impressive goalscoring record for Gothenburg, finding the net 33 times in his 53 appearances in all competitions since joining in July 2013. His contract runs until the end of next season, and he could be available for £2.5m in the summer.

The 27-year-old mainly plays through the middle but can also play wide on the left. He has a total of six caps for the Danish national team, all of which have come in recent months as the result of his form in Sweden.
