Crystal Palace vs QPR – Premier League preview and team news

Queens Park Rangers will be desperate to bounce back from two home defeats and boost their survival hopes with success away to Crystal Palace.

Alan Pardew’s men have struggled at home for much of this season, with a record of just three wins from 12 games at Selhurst Park possibly offering QPR hope, although that does appear a fantastic return when compared to the R’s away record, earning just three points on the road since promotion.

Unlike at West Ham, the creativity of Jason Puncheon and the pace of Yannick Bolasie did not cause Southampton problems in Palace’s last outing, where they lost away for the first time under Pardew. Despite that they are still in a healthy position, lying eight points above the drop zone.

That means victory here will leave them on the brink of safety in what has overall been an impressive turnaround in fortunes under Pardew. Of course, the visitors have also changed their manager recently, but despite earning that elusive victory at Sunderland, Chris Ramsey has seen them lose their last three.

Two penalty appeals went against them in the last game at home to Tottenham, where they edged the first half in terms of territory and gave no shortage of effort and endeavour but eventually could not match the quality of their opponents, conceding twice to the in-form Harry Kane.

For Crystal Palace, Jordon Mutch is injured and cannot face his former club, while the suspended Mile Jedinak is joined by Yaya Sanogo and Fraizer Campbell on the sidelines.

Leroy Fer, Richard Dunne and Alejandro Faurlin are still missing for QPR, for whom skipper Joey Barton completes a three-match ban.
