Liverpool are considering the possibility of making a bid to sign Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic in the summer, according to the Daily
Jovetic has been tipped to leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of this season after falling out of favour and having been dropped from Man City’s squad for the Champions League in favour of January signing Wilfried Bony. As a result, the Montenegro international publically voiced his disapproval at manager Manuel Pellegrini’s decision.
He started the season as a regular in the Man City side in a run which saw him score twice in the 3-1 victory over Liverpool in August, but in general he has found himself behind Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko in the pecking order since joining in the summer of 2013 from Fiorentina for £22m.
The 25-year-old has been a Liverpool target before, and he fits the profile of player that Brendan Rodgers is looking for in order to strengthen his squad for next season, although the Reds appear likely to sign Burnley forward Danny Ings. Inter and Juventus would both be interested in taking Jovetic back to Serie A.
