Man City’s James Milner considering a move abroad in the summer

Manchester City midfielder James Milner could well be considering a move abroad in the summer, with reports from ESPN suggesting the England international has been learning Spanish.

Milner, 29, is said to have been learning a number of languages ahead of this summer, with a number of clubs around Europe reportedly keen on his services. His contract with the Premier League holders is up in the summer, and there’s been no movement on an extension just yet, so he’s bracing himself for an exit.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini has been full of praise for the England midfielder throughout his time in charge of him, so it was expected that the former Aston Villa man would be staying at the Etihad stadium, but could be released on a free transfer in the summer. Liverpool and Arsenal are two sides who have been linked with James Milner, who had previously admitted frustration with a lack of playing time.

He’s been a regular this season, however, so there is still time for the club and player to discuss terms over a new deal. Milner is certainly important to Manchester City, and has scored some important goals during the campaign.
