Despite Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria suffering a real slump in form for the Red Devils this season, assistant manager Ryan Giggs remains confident that the Argentine can showcase his best in due time, reports Sky
Signed from Real Madrid for around £60M in the summer, Angel Di Maria hasn’t lived up to his billing. He impressed in the early games following his arrival, but has since struggled to maintain such levels of performances. Di Maria started out beating his marker and whipping deadly balls into the area, but of late he’s been struggling to pick out simple passes.
His performances have been so below-par, manager Louis van Gaal has been forced to substitute him games recently to bring in new faces to provide more creativity. But while Di Maria has struggled, assistant manager Ryan Giggs believes in the Argentine, and is confident he can overcome a difficult debut campaign.
It’s often difficult for a new arrival to instantly take to such a change in climate and culture, especially while trying to adapt to the fast-paced Premier League, and Giggs is tipping Di Maria to shine for Manchester United next season.
“Players get used to different leagues, sometimes quickly and sometimes it takes a bit of time. He had a really good start to the season but with players who take risks and who can win games it’s always difficult to be consistent because they will try things that other players won’t do. They’re capable of doing that and that’s why they’re match-winners and the best players,” he said.
