Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 Swansea City: Tottenham get top-four hopes back on track with Swans victory

Tottenham put their Europa League exit and Capital One Cup final defeat behind them to emerge victorious from a five-goal thriller at White Hart Lane against Swansea City, reports BBC Sport.

Spurs took the lead minutes into the game from winger Nacer Chadli, who scored his 10th goal of the season. A break in play following a collapse from Swansea’s Bafetimbi Gomis saw the visitors equalise through Ki Sung-yeung inside of 20 minutes.

After the break, Ryan Mason fired the home side into the lead, before Andros Townsend doubled Tottenham’s advantage on the hour mark. The Londoners looked all set for a comfortable victory, before their former player Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled a goal back to set up a rousing finale.

But Tottenham did manage to hold on to record a very important win after a run if disappointing results. Manager Mauricio Pochettino had suffered a Europa League exit, Capital One Cup final defeat, as well as dropped points in the Premier League that threatened to end their hopes of a top-four finish, but their 3-2 win over Swansea could be a turning point, with only 10 league games to go.
