Arsenal monitoring Lyon forward Lacazette

Arsenal are considering a summer move for Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette, the Daily Telegraph has reported.

Lacazette has 26 goals in 30 games in Ligue 1 this season, helping his side to run neck-and-neck with big-spending Paris Saint-Germain. PSG have a game in hand on Lyon but they are currently level on points, Lyon in first place through goal difference.

Manager Arsene Wenger is said to be a fan of the 23-year-old product of the Lyon academy and he could be used as a partner for France international Olivier Giroud. Lacazette has also earned senior honours for Les Bleus, picking up half-a-dozen caps and scoring once, having represented his country throughout the different age levels.

Lacazette made his Lyon debut in the 2009-10 season, appearing once in the campaign, and became a more regular presence in 2011-12, scoring 10 goals in 43 games. In total Lacazette has made 183 appearances for Les Gones, scoring 68 times, and was part of the France Under-19 side that won the European Under-19 Championship in 2010, scoring in the final victory over Spain.
