Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas having surgery on broken nose in Italy

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is having surgery in Italy to fix his broken nose picked up following a challenge with Stoke City’s Charlie Adam on the weekend, reports the Express.

The Spanish international was hit with a flailing arm from Adam on the itch, and put up a picture showing his two black eyes after the game. Chelsea ran out 2-1 winners at full-time, which sees them all but over the line in their pursuit to win the Premier League title, and Fabregas revealed he would seek surgery on his nose, as he had broken it in 2008 without having it mended.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will be hoping to have Fabregas back in action for their remaining games to come in the Premier League, but he will certainly be feeling the effects of a physical encounter with Stoke. He’s not the first player to have come away with battle scars against the Potters, but did seem good-natured about the incident with Adam.

He’s said to be seeing Dr Paco to have work on his eyes, but could be a doubt for their coming clash against Queens Park Rangers if his recovery is slow.
