Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew believes Man City can win the title

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has said Manchester City still have a chance at winning the Premier League title this season, despite being some distance away from leaders Chelsea, reports Sky Sports.

City are currently second in the Premier League table after 30 games this season, six points behind Chelsea who have a game in hand. Despite the gap, Manchester City have made back a large deficit in the past to seal the title as they did in 2011/12, and Pardew thinks they can do it again this season, with Chelsea still capable of dropping points in their remaining games. The London side still have to face Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool, so City are hopeful of catching them.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has maintained his belief in his side to retain their title, but has conceded that they cannot afford to drop any more points if they want to win back-to-back league crowns. They face Crystal Palace this weekend, and need all three points, while hoping league leaders Chelsea slip up in their game. Pardew isn’t ruling them out for the league title, and is subsequently expecting a very tough game on the weekend.

“Of course they are still in the title race, it’s been proven many times the race is never over. Even when City won it, it went to the last seconds. It’s the great thing about the Premier League, you can’t take victories for granted,” he said.
