Following their surprise 2-1 win against Manchester City at Selhurst Park on Monday night, Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann wants the Londoners to surpass last season’s points in the Premier League, with seven games remaining, reports Sky
Crystal Palace took their tally to an impressive 39 points following their win against the Premier League holders, which means they are six points adrift of matching the tally under former manager Tony Pulis. With seven games to go, the Eagles should have no problem bettering last season’s tally of points, considering the form Palace have been in, but they still have to deliver when it matters.
While not at the coveted 40-point marker, being just one point shy all but seals Crystal Palace’s Premier League status for another season. The sides currently languishing at the bottom are more than 10 points adrift of the likes of Palace in the table, so it would take a complete crumble, let alone near perfect form of the bottom sides in their remaining games to see Palace relegated.
Scott Dann is still wary of the drop, but instead wants his team to focus on hitting last season’s 45-points tally. He said: When you play against the top teams like that you need a bit of everything, we were outstanding today and deserved the three points. We’ve got seven games left and we want to see how far we go in the league and try to beat the points total we got last season.”
