Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes Reds manager Brendan Rodgers will win the Premier League if he keeps his job past this summer, reports Sky
Liverpool’s poor end of season form continued with a 1-0 away defeat to Hull City, which has all but ruled out their chances of finishing in a Champions League spot in the Premier League table, and manager Brendan Rodgers finds himself under pressure in position. The Merseysiders look on course to finish outside of the top-four, but did finish second in the league in 2013/14, which earned Rodgers the Manager of the Year award.
Their recent defeat to Hull City has drawn more pressure on the manager, as supporters are being disillusioned with a lack of progress being made. Liverpool did hit some form in 2015, going 13 games unbeaten in the Premier League. At the time, the Reds looked on course to finish in the top-four, but they’ve come unstuck and now only have the Europa League to fight for.
But despite their poor end to the season, Robbie Fowler still believes they could win the title in the future under Rodgers. He said: “We’ve been knocking on the door for a few years. We are still in with a slight chance of getting fourth place, I think Brendan is a bright man and I honestly believe he will bring success back to this club.”
