Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling could well have landed himself in hot water, after giving an unsanctioned interview with the BBC about his ongoing contract dispute with the Merseyside club, reports Express.
The England international admitted in the interview that he did request talks be resumed at the end of the season, as he wanted to review all his options, amid speculation linked European elite side to his signature.
In the footage, he revealed he didn’t want supporters to label him a money-grabber for his decision, and tried to play down any talk of a fallout with him and the club.
But manager Brendan Rodgers could be forced to punish the young winger for the interview, as is was revealed he did it without the permission of the Premier League club.
Liverpool have been very deliberate in not letting Sterling do much media work, as they’ve been trying to keep him out of the public eye as much as possible, so this recent breach is sure to irk Rodgers especially.
