Olympique Marseilles forward Andre Ayew has revealed he would be open to a Premier League move next season. The 25-year-old’s contract is up with the French Ligue 1 side in the summer, and he’s been linked with a host of sides in the English top flight, reports Sky
Ayew has been at Marseilles for his entire professional career, and this season has scored seven goals in the league. He’s made over 200 appearances for the French club, and admitted it would be a very difficult decision if he was to leave the club. The likes of Swansea City, Arsenal and Newcastle are some of the Premier League sides who have shown an interest, and they certainly aren’t alone in Europe.
The Ghana international is heavily coveted by a host of sides, and has been ending the season in fantastic form, with four goals in his last seven league outings. Arsenal have a lot of attacking options in the side, but are also open to look at stellar talent in the French leagues, Newcastle have adopted a real emphasis on procuring players from Ligue 1 in recent years, and Swansea want to bolster their options up front.
“I have had a lot of different offers from different countries, but I will have to discuss with Marseille. I will make a decision soon, and look at the offers that are coming in and decide what is best for my future. The Premier League is the best league in the world today, and it would be an honour play there,” he said.
“I talk to a lot with my friends who have played there. Samuel Eto’o, Alex Song, Samir Nasri, Joey Barton have all given me great advice about the Premier League. I am still in contract with Marseille, so I cannot give names of clubs, but there has been contact.”
