Mourinho: Club owner Abramovich is happy with our style

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has refuted claims that the club owner Roman Abramovich doesn’t like the style of football on display under the Portuguese coach, and suggests he wants to win as much as the rest of the side do, reports ESPN.

The Premier League leaders have received a lot of criticism following their 0-0 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates last week, with supporters chanting “boring, boring Chelsea”. And further reports were suggesting owner Roman Abramovich hasn’t been pleased with their perceived negative style on the pitch, as he previously has looked to bring Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola to offer an attractive style of play into the team.

But Mourinho has denied any allegations of discontentment around the club between him and the players and the owner, saying that the Russian billionaire revelled in their recent draw against Arsenal, and has been very happy with how things are going this season. Mourinho added that winning the Premier League title was always the objective for this season, and Abramovich is more than pleased to see the Londoners on course to achieve their goals.

The 52-year-old was quoted as saying: “”Roman is very happy. I saw him hugging the players in the dressing room after the game. I think he’s happy and I think every Chelsea fan is happy if we win the title. If we win the title, we have a fantastic Premier League with everything.”
