Manchester City have underperformed considerable in all four competitions this season, and now their top-four hopes are even at risk. The Sky Blues have endured a woeful run of form in 2015 that has seen them unceremoniously knocked out of every competition, as well dropped so much ground on Premier League leaders Chelsea. City are currently fourth in the table, and only four points clear of fifth place. They have dropped points in nine of their last 14 games, and are ending the season without a whimper.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini has been blamed for their downfall, and he’s certainly been guilty of questionable squad choices throughout the season, but Neville feels his hands are somewhat tied due to the club’s transfer policy, and under-performing stars in his time. The England assistant manager says City should keep Pellegrini for at least another season to rebuild the squad, as many members of the 2011/12 title winning team are considerably ageing.
“I hope they don’t change their manager. I hope that Manuel Pellegrini stays at Man City and I hope he is able to correct the things that have gone wrong in the last four months,” he said.
