Southampton manager Ronald Koeman will return to his native Netherlands for two Feyenoord players, the
Koeman tried to sign Vilhena in the January transfer window, it’s claimed, but were rebuffed in their approach. But the 20-year-old wants out of Feyenood and the Saints are expected to resurrect their interest once the campaign comes to a close. Vilhena, a Netherlands Under-21 international, will be in the final year of his contract as of this summer, but no potential transfer fee is mentioned.
Clasie, however, is expected to cost in the region of £10m. He has played almost 200 games for Feyenoord since coming through the ranks at De Kuip and completing a 2011 loan spell at Excelsior. The 23-year-old has 11 senior international caps, having made his Oranje bow in 2012, and was part of the Dutch squad that finished third at the 2014 World Cup under current Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
Koeman took charge of Southampton in summer 2014 after Mauricio Pochettini decamped to Tottenham Hotspur, leaving Feyenoord, a club he also represented as a player. Under his guidance Southampton have reached seventh in the Premier League with five games to play.
