Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie scored three goals, as Alan Pardew’s men ran riot against a lacklustre Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday afternoon, reports BBC
It took Crystal Palace until the second-half to get themselves on the scoresheet, with the in-form Glenn Murray having opened the scoring. Talented winger Yannick Bolasie then scored a speedy hat-trick early into the second-half and around the hour mark to turn the game Palace’s way.
Bolasie’s first goal came just minutes after Murray’s opener, with the Congolose midfielder linking up with Murray, before dispatching of one of his knock-downs.
The 25-year-old scored his second and Palace’s third of the afternoon with a lofted finish just two minutes later, before completing his hat-trick less than 10 minutes after grabbing a brace.
Connor Wickham pulled a goal back for Sunderland, but it was to nothing other than scant consolation for a Black Cats side in a precarious position in the Premier League following the final whistle. Palace’s revival under Pardew continues, and the Londoners look capable of finishing in the top-10 of the table come May based on their showing at the Stadium of Light.
