Former Manchester City midfielder Trevor Sinclair believes the Sky Blues should depart with Yaya Toure in the summer, with Italian Serie A side Inter Milan having shown an interest in the Ivorian international, reports Sky
Yaya Toure has endured a disappointing campaign, and has been blamed partly for Manchester City’s failure in the Champions League. Manager Manuel Pellegrini has continued to play him at the heart of the midfield, despite him offering little to no protection to the centre-backs in games.
He scored in City’s 2-1 defeat at Palace, but struggled to stem the tide of attacks that came on the break, and the Eagles ran out worthy winners for their efforts. And with Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini – formerly the Man City boss – have publicly revealed he would like to sign Toure if the club can afford it, Sinclair feels City should take them up on their interest and let him go at the end of the season.
Sinclair feels Toure has run his course with Manchester City, and is one player holding them back due to his flaws as a central midfielder.
