Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez scored twice against Hull City, as the Gunners earned all three points at the KC Stadium, while confirming their place in next season’s Champions League competition, reports Sky
Arsene Wenger’s men didn’t have it all their own way, but some first-half fortune and qualify football on display proved to be the decisive difference to earn the London outfit a valuable three points in their pursuit for a top-two finish.
Arsenal took the lead inside of half an hour through the impressive Sanchez. His free kick was deflected past the hapless Steve Harper in the Hull City goal, and the worst was yet to come.
Aaron Ramsey doubled Arsenal’s advantage just minutes later, with his own deflected effort giving the City shot-stopper no chance. Sanchez then effectively ended the spectacle right on half-time, with the best goal of the game.
The Chilean international – who was a standout performer all evening – latched on to a brilliant through ball from Ramsey, before rounding Harper and finishing into an empty net.
The result sees Hull City in a precarious position in the Premier League, while Arsenal book their place in the Champions League again.
