Leicester City 3-0 Newcastle United: Nine-man Magpies suffer 8th consecutive league defeat

Leicester City piled on the misery against Newcastle United at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Leonardo Ulloa grabbing a brace as the Foxes’ fine run of form continued with all three points earned against John Carver’s men, reports BBC Sport.

Leicester took the lead inside of a minute through Ulloa, who took advantage of poor Newcastle defending. The former Brighton man headed home early on to give the Foxes a dream start to the game, while ensure Newcastle would have a mountain to climb to get back into the clash.

Things were made worse in the 17th minute when Wes Morgan doubled Leicester’s lead to compound the pressure on United manager John Carver, whose side looked down and out early into the match.

The away side did show some fight, with Ayoze Perez threatening at times, but the Spanish striker couldn’t halve the deficit for Newcastle, and the North-East club found themselves on course for an 8th consecutive defeat in the second-half.

Ulloa scored from the spot minutes after the break to make it 3-0, and Newcastle eventually ended the game with nine men, which capped a woeful afternoon and performance.
