Arsenal midfield ace Jack Wilshere has stated that he does not believe he will leave the club this summer following recent links to both Liverpool and Manchester City, according to the Daily
The Premier League giants have both been tipped to make summer moves for the 23-year-old this summer after reports claimed several £30m offers were to be tabled when the transfer window reopens in July.
Liverpool are believed to have targeted Wilshere as a possible replacement for iconic veteran Steven Gerrard, as he fits the bill of being young, English and richly talented.
City, meanwhile, are light on numbers in the midfield area after offloading both Scott Sinclair and Frank Lampard. With James Milner likely to join the mini exodus, Manuel Pellegrini will be on the look out for quality replacements.
But Wilshere has reacted to the reports by denying that he will be linking up with either side over the summer and instead will look to stay with the Gunners into next season.
Asked whether he would be sticking around at the Emirates he replied: “Of course.”
“I’ve been injured for a long time this season. I’ve worked hard. All I want to do at the minute is play football.”
