Arsenal News and Gossip
Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes that the Gunners can win the Premier League title next year, as long as they are able to add Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, the Daily Star report.
The 33-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Emirates, and Redknapp believes that his signature could help Arsene Wenger’s side reach the league’s summit.
“Jack Wilshere will be fit at the start of the season, as will Theo Walcott and if they can get Cech and some other good buys then I can see Arsenal challenging for the title next season,” he said.
However, they may have a task on their hands to keep hold of one of their key players. The Daily Mirror report that Manchester City are preparing a £30m move for Jack Wilshere, after struggling to lure Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling to the Etihad Stadium.
Another player potentially heading for the north London exit is striker Lukas Podolski. The Daily Star suggest that Turkish club Galatasaray are keen on the German international, and have already agreed a deal for the man who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Inter Milan.
But, Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya could be heading to the Premier League. The player’s agent has confirmed that there is interest from some unnamed English clubs, although he could not confirm which ones, the Daily Express report.
Should he decide to come to England, it appears that the Gunners will have to battle it out with Liverpool for his signature.
Finally, Southampton have put a £24m price tag on long-term Arsenal target Morgan Schneiderlin, the Daily Star report.
However, Manchester United are also in the running, and are the Frenchman’s preferred destination, the Star suggest.
