According to The Sun, the Chelsea boss wants to sign Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele, who may be available for around £12m.
While it is unlikely that the Belgian will manage to cement a regular spot in the Stamford Bridge side – given the success the midfield enjoyed last season – he would provide some depth with The Sun suggesting that John Obi Mikel is on his way out of the club.
The Premier League champions’ interest seems bizarre, not least because it follows a season where the 27-year-old appeared to fall out of favour at White Hart Lane, and thus struggled to make much of an impact.
The former Fulham man made more appearances from the bench than he did by starting, with 16 of his 26 top flight games coming as a substitute. And he only managed one goal and one assist from those games.
The Sun report that both Axel Witsel and Giannelli Imbula are also on the Blues’ radar.
