A report in Spain has claimed that Chelsea’s top goalscorer Diego Costa has been offered to Real Madrid, despite the player denying claims he was unhappy at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea News and Goals
The Daily Star have reported that the striker could be heading back to the city he left 12 months ago to join the Blues in a £32m move, however this time he would be heading to the Bernabeu, rather than back to his former club Atletico.
The scarcely-believable rumour comes after the 26-year-old was forced to deny claims that he had failed to settle into life in London, and was looking to reunite with former Diego Simeone, with whom he had won the La Liga title and reached the final of the Champions League (via The Sun).
And even if the Spain international did want to return to his adopted country, it seems incredibly difficult to imagine how large an offer it would take for Jose Mourinho to even consider selling his striker.
Costa bagged 20 goals in the top flight as Chelsea clinched their fourth Premier League title, which on its own would make him nearly impossible to replace.
But, when you consider that Didier Drogba has now left the champions for a second time, and Loic Remy could be following him out of the door (via The Sun), it seems ridiculous to even suggest that his club are entertaining the idea of letting Costa go.
