Liverpool have apparently added another new face to their line up this summer by confirming that Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne will join the club on a five-year deal, the Metro
Reports on Thursday morning had suggested that the Reds had lodged a renewed £12.5m offer for the England international, which was accepted by the Saints.
The 24-year-old has just one year left on his current deal at St Mary’s, and had apparently told manager Ronald Koeman that he had no intention of extending his contract and wanted to move on during the upcoming transfer window.
It was thought that Manchester United were interested in bringing him to Old Trafford as they also look for defensive reinforcements, but Brendan Rodgers now appears to have beaten the Red Devils to land his sixth signing of the summer.
Clyne will now likely undergo a medical in Merseyside next week once he returns from his post season break.
