Barcelona have now confirmed that Juventus star Paul Pogba is one of their key transfer targets, despite the fact that they cannot sign him until January next year.

The Sun report that the Catalan giants’ president Josep Bartomeu was impressed by the 22-year-old’s performance during the Champions League final which saw Luis Enrique’s men complete the treble, despite a valiant effort for the Italian side also chasing a third trophy of the campaign.
“It is true that Pogba is a leading target of ours and obviously we are interested, but I can’t say anything more,” he said.
However, the deal may not be as easy to complete as some may expect. Barcelona have been hit with a transfer embargo for breaching rules on signing players under the age of 18, The Sun report, which means that are unable to complete any deals until midway through next season.
They may be hoping that Pogba is willing to follow in the footsteps of Sevilla full-back Aleix Vidal, who the BBC report completed a move to the Nou Camp earlier today, but will have to sit on the sidelines for the next few months.
However, given the quality that Pogba possesses, it is difficult to imagine that he would be happy taking time away from competitive action, especially as it seemed to be one of the reasons behind his departure from Old Trafford three years ago.
According to The Sun, the playmaker is also wanted by some of the continent’s best clubs including Manchester City, who would clearly love to prove to their city rivals how wrong they got it when they let the Frenchman go.
