Twelve Premier League transfer targets hoping to shine at the Copa America

The Copa America is the biggest male footballing event of the summer, so scouts will surely be watching the event intently to find out if their clubs’ particular targets can shine when the pressure is on.

The Telegraph have compiled a list of some of the men that may find themselves being monitored very closely ahead of a possible Premier League move once the curtain comes down on the tournament.

Here are 12 of the most highly sought after names who will be hoping to shine in Chile over the coming weeks:

Carlos Bacca (Colombia and Sevilla)

Internationally at least, the 28-year-old has spent much of his career in the shadow of Radamel Falcao. And even when the Monaco forward was missing for the 2014 World Cup, Bacca could still only make one substitute appearance in Brazil. This may be his tournament to stamp his name on the international stage, and show Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham – who are all interested in the striker, according to the Daily Express – why he would be such an important signing.

Edinson Cavani (Uruguay and Paris Saint-Germain)

With Luis Suarez still banned for his infamous bite at last year’s World Cup, Uruguay’s attacking hopes will probably centre around the Paris Saint-Germain forward. He has been in sensational form for the Ligue 1 side this year as they clinched the domestic treble. Despite spending much of the campaign being deployed out of position as Laurent Blanc prefers to use Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a central role, he has managed 31 goals in all competitions. The Metro report that Manchester United could be preparing a £60m bid for the 28-year-old.
