The Saints have a strong and prolifically productive youth academy, and the latest future star off the production line is young left-back Matt Targett. He provided cover for Ryan Bertrand in an impressive debut campaign at St Mary’s, making six appearances, and was subsequently named the club’s Young Player of the Year for the 2014/15 season.
